Why vote for Tom Hartwell in the upcoming Republican Primary for Kane County Circuit Clerk? Tom stands out as the best choice. The reasons are simple:
Tom is successful in many areas of his life that fit the job requirements. Tom is effective and efficient in business, in community service and as a parent.
He understands that we can’t spend more than we have, employing a solid budget and looking for sound ways to generate a higher level of efficiency. He listens and leads through positive teamwork.
As a member of the South Elgin Lions Club, a life member of Jaycees, a founding member of the South Elgin Parks and Recreation Board and the Elgin Moose Club, it means a lot to me that our representatives give back to the community. Mr. Hartwell isn’t just a successful businessperson but a proud, caring father and a volunteer as well.
As I’ve gotten to know Mr. Hartwell these are just some of the things that have impressed me about him. I want him on the team that will lead Kane County, so let’s elect Tom Hartwell to help restore faith in our local government.
He is fiscally conservative, with enough experience to implement and maintain a balanced budget while improving the attention to detail so important in an office that maintains county court records.

To the Editor:
It’s election time again, with local and national primaries scheduled in Illinois on March 20. People will certainly make their predictions. In Kane County, the circuit clerk’s office has been stuck in neutral for too long. The Republican primary features three candidates, the best of whom, in my opinion, I know personally.
Tom Hartwell prefers performance over politics. He’s a Kane County attorney with more than 26 years of experience. In an office that’s not moving forward, what you have is a lack of leadership, efficiency and accountability.
Tom scores high marks on all three. Again, in my opinion, the other two candidates simply don’t measure up.
Tom has been a longtime community contributor, having managed and mentored youth sports groups, including the Elgin Continental Little League baseball team that won the state championship in 2007.
He is involved with his church. And for many years, he has run a successful law practice.
Anyone who knows Tom knows that his word is the glue that has held many legal contracts together.
The Kane County circuit clerk’s office needs someone of his high caliber. The voters of Kane County do, too.
There won’t be any more lawsuits that will cost the county $600,000.
